原文报道:
This external report is the output from a scientific or technical project that EFSA has funded to support its work in accordance with Article 36 of EFSA’s Founding Regulation. It was produced by the beneficiaries of an EFSA grant following a call for proposal published on the EFSA website. For more information on this procedure see Article 36 cooperation. It is published complying with the transparency principle to which EFSA is subject and cannot be considered as an output adopted by EFSA. - Article 36 Cooperation
Introduction
Interest in chemical mixtures and possible effect on human health is growing in Europe; for example, the EFSA Panel on plant protection products and their residues (PPR) considered various types of combined toxicity of pesticides1. The present report describes the outcome of the Art. 36 project CFP/EFSA/SCAF/2008/01 funded by EFSA and aiming at developing a toxicological database (data on toxicokinetics and toxicodynamics) of chemical mixtures relevant to food safety.
Decision was made to screen the possibility for the database to cover a broad scope of compound categories, and therefore be of relevance for the highest number of EFSA Scientific Panels and Committee. The database focuses on effects of chemical mixtures on human health. Therefore data on environmental effects (ecotoxicity) have not been sought; although where information has been identified during the literature searches, it has been included in the database. The present report describes the structure of the database on chemical mixtures, its content and limitations, and makes some proposals for possible further developments to suite as best as possible EFSA's needs discussed during the final meeting of the project. An annex is providing some practical guidance on how to use this database, which is currently accessible only by EFSA Staff and Experts.
