2013年9月20日，美国国际贸易委员会（ITC）投票决定对部分多功能户外烧烤架及其零部件（certain multiple mode outdoor grills and parts thereof）启动337调查。涉案产品是多功能户外烧烤架，其可使使用者使用气体燃料或固体燃料（如木炭或木头）或者两种燃料同时使用以烹调食品。
2013年8月21日，美国A&J Manufacturing LLC和A&J Manufacturing, Inc.向美国ITC提出申请，指控美国进口以及美国国内销售的部分多功能户外烧烤架及其零部件侵犯了专利权，要求启动337调查，并发布普遍排除令和禁止令。
