据美国食品药品管理局消息，4月20日美国FDA发布消息指出，美国FDA同其他多个国家一起合作，共同推动进口食品安全状况的提升。
据了解，美国食品安全现代化法案的通过给予FDA最新食品安全权限，以确保国内食品安全，确保进口食品符合有关标准要求。近日美国FDA就食品安全合作问题征求意见。专家认为，有许多合作工具可以用来增强进口食品安全性，从能力构建到认可第三方审核和认证、加强法规合作方式等。
美国从200多个国家、12.5万家公司进口食品，由于15%美国食品为进口，美国FDA有必要和供应商、进口商合作，以保证进口食品的安全性。
