据欧盟食品安全局（EFSA）消息，应欧委会的要求，7月12日欧盟食品安全局再次就谷氨酸、谷氨酸盐作为食品添加剂的安全性发布意见。
根据欧盟安全局调查显示，目前谷氨酸和谷氨酸盐（E 620-625）的每日暴露量超过ADI和某些人群不良反应剂量。
欧盟食品添加剂和营养小组（ANS）建议将谷氨酸和谷氨酸盐（E 620-625）每日允许摄入量（ADI）定为30 mg/kg 每天。

The EFSA Panel on Food Additives and Nutrient Sources added to Food （ANS） provides a scientific opinion re-evaluating the safety of glutamic acid–glutamates （E 620–625） when used as food additives. Glutamate is absorbed in the intestine and it is presystemically metabolised in the gut wall. No adverse effects were observed in the available short-term, subchronic, chronic, reproductive and developmental studies.
